Do you do residential and commercial?
Associate Roofing, Inc. of New England has been serving the needs of commercial roofing and residential roofing clients, since 1932
Do I have to replace my whole roof?

It's not always necessary to replace your entire roof, depending on the type of roof, the extent of the damage, and the age of the roof.

Some signs that your roof might need replacing include:

- Loose granules in you gutters or around downspouts.

- Bald spots or discoloration on your shingles.

- Moss, mold or fungi on or around the roof.

- Sagging in the roof.

- Rotting boards.

- Moist insulation in the attic.

Will my asphalt roof replacement come with a warranty?

Standard Roofing Material Warranty

If the installed shingles or another component has a manufacturer defect, they'll cover the cost of the new materials (labor and tear-off costs excluded). All shingles come with a standard warranty that's pretty uniform across all the leading manufacturers.

My roof doesn't leak, why do I need a new one?
Even if your roof isn't leaking, it may still need replacement. Over time, components like skylights, flashing, and chimney systems deteriorate, and replacing your roof ensures that all parts are in top condition, extending the life of your property.
What do you look for in a roofer?
Do your research and hire a certified professional. With GAF Master Elite certification, we're among the top 2% of roofers, ensuring you get the best quality from the start. Roofing is not a price game.

Why do I need/want a Warranty?

A roofing warranty can protect your investment in your roof and ensure that you aren't left paying for repairs or replacements if something goes wrong. Roofing projects can a substantial amount of money, so you want to make sure your investment is protected.

Who will be doing the work?

Most homeowners choose to have a professional roofing contractor do their roofing work. Roofers are tradespeople who specialize in installing, repairing, and replacing roofs using a variety of materials. When choosing a contractor, you can consider things like:

- License: In Massachusetts, roofers need a license to operate legally, depending on the scope of the project. A Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) license is required for projects over $1,000.

- Job site project manager: A job site supervisor can help ensure that you're satisfied with the project from start to finish. They can also verify project details to prevent mistakes, such as ordering the wrong materials.

- Customer service: Ask about the level of on-site customer service you'll receive.

What kind of roofing do you do?
Yes, our exterior service caters to various architectural styles and home types. Whether you have a modern or traditional residence, we tailor our service to complement your property's unique characteristics.
What are my color options, what color do you recommend?

When choosing a color for your new roof, you can consider your home's style, the roof's material, and how the color will affect your home's curb appeal and energy efficiency:

- Many colors and styles are available. We are happy to go over all of your choices and provide samples as well.

How long should my roof last?

The lifespan of a roof can vary from 10 to over 50 years depending on several factors, including the type of material, installation quality, maintenance, and climate:

Material
The type of material used for the roof can affect how long it lasts. For example, asphalt shingles typically last 20–30 years, while clay tile roofs can last over 50 years. Metal roofs can last 40–70 years, depending on the type and gauge of metal, and copper can last over 70 years.

Installation
The quality of the installation workmanship can impact how long the roof lasts.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance checks and gutter cleaning can help extend the life of a roof. For example, asphalt roofs can benefit from maintenance after installation to help them last longer.

Climate
The weather in your area can also impact how long your roof lasts. For example, parts of an asphalt roof that are exposed to prolonged sunlight may show signs of wear and tear more quickly.
Can I just do a layover?

A roof layover, also known as a roof overlay, can be an option in some cases, but it's not usually the best choice:

It can cover up damage:
- A layover can cover up damage instead of addressing the problem.

It can make the roof more vulnerable to leaks and damage:
-The original layer of shingles has a ridged surface with gaps that can make it difficult for the layover to securely mount. The extra weight of the second layer can also make the roof more vulnerable to leaks and damage.

It can impact the longevity of the roof:
- Harsh weather conditions, such as heavy rain, snow, or extreme temperatures, can accelerate wear and tear on a layover. Areas prone to severe weather like we have in New England might benefit more from a complete roof replacement.
